About Entyvio
Entyvio (vedolizumab) is used to treat moderate to severe ulcerative colitis (UC) and moderate to severe Crohn’s Disease. Entyvio treats active disease and may help keep UC or Crohn’s symptoms under control long term. It may also reduce the need for steroid medicines in helping to control symptoms long term. Entyvio is usually given after other treatments have failed.
Entyvio works by preventing an excess of white blood cells from entering into the GI tract. This helps to control inflammation and symptoms of ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
Getting Your Entyvio Infusion
Entyvio is administered by intravenous infusion every eight weeks, after two starter doses in the first six weeks. Each infusion takes about 30 minutes.
